Summer Fun for Ages 5+

ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME

RoboKai's summer camps are a great way for kids to explore their interest in robotics while playing fun games, working in teams, and making new friends. Our trained coaches teach students building and programming fundamentals using a variety of creative themes and activities.

2023 Summer Camps

RoboKai is offering camps all summer long for ages 5+ exploring the exciting world of robotics and coding through a variety of themes and activities. Each week-long camp is 3 hours per day. Some camps are morning sessions (9am-12pm) and others are afternoon sessions (1pm-4pm). Please note the dates and times in the description for each camp.

Camps are organized below by grade level.
 

Green: Rising K-2nd grade
Blue: Rising 3rd-5th grade
Orange: Rising 5th-7th grade

ABOUT EXPERIENCE LEVELS

In the camp descriptions, we include a recommended experience level for each grade level.

​

Beginner: The student will receive detailed instruction and direct assistance from coaches.

​

Intermediate: The student will do a blend of self-directed and guided activities, with instruction and assistance from coaches.

​

Advanced: The student will be mostly self-directed with coaches providing assignments, guidance and assistance as needed.

​

TUITION & EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT CODE

All camps are $225 each for RoboKai members, and $249 each for non-members. Membership must be active at the time of signup. If you register before April 1, 2023, you may receive a 5% discount by using the code "RKEARLYBIRD23" during checkout.

HOW DOES ONLINE REGISTRATION WORK?

To register for a camp online, you will be asked to create an account with us. Once logged in, look for My Profile > My Family and create separate profiles for yourself and your child. Be sure to register the camp under your child's profile. If you accidentally register it to your own profile, just email us below and we'll happily fix it.

WANT TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE CAMPS OR REGISTER SIBLINGS?

We offer a 5% discount when you purchase multiple camps or register siblings. To receive this discount, please email camps@robokai.com with the subject line "Camp Discounts."

CANCELLATION POLICY

If RoboKai cancels a camp for any reason, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your registration before April 1, 2023, we will refund the tuition to your original payment method minus a $25 processing fee, or offer to issue a 100% RoboKai credit good for other camps and programs. If you cancel your registration between April 1, 2023 and two weeks prior to the camp start date, we will refund 50% of the tuition to your original payment method minus a $25 processing fee, or offer to issue a 100% credit to other RoboKai camps and programs. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations within two weeks of the camp start date.

RoboZoo (Morning)

Explore the basics of robots and coding using animal themes and activities. This camp also helps to build mixed-media arts and crafts skills.

RoboTales (Morning)

Grades: Rising K-2

Explore the basics of robots and coding using storytime themes and storytelling activities. This camp also helps to build literacy and social-emotional skills.

RoboNaut (Morning)

Simple Machines (Afternoon)

Explore how simple machines make work easier, and how they can be combined in robots to perform complicated tasks.

Robots That Work (Afternoon)

Explore ways in which robots can be used to perform jobs and assist people with tasks that are dull, dangerous, or dirty.

City Technology (Morning)

Use a robot to bring medicine to the hospital, lift fallen trees, clear rocks from the roadway and more in a weeklong competition.

Ocean Science Exploration (Morning)

Use a robot to move sensors, fix a pipeline, open a clam, deliver a pearl and more in a weeklong competition.

Explore physical science concepts such as force, friction, traction, and momentum through activities using a robotic vehicle.

Camps for Rising 5th-7th Graders

Robot Combat (Afternoon)

Grades: Rising 5-7

Experience Level: Beginner

Dates/Time: July 17-21, 2023 | 1pm-4pm

 

Use the engineering process to design, build, test, and improve a robot that will battle other robots using arms, claws, hammers, and spinners.

Tug of War (Afternoon)

Grades: Rising 5-7

Experience Level: Intermediate

Dates/Time: July 31-August 4, 2023 | 1pm-4pm

 

Use the engineering design process combined with lessons in force, friction, and traction to design, build, test, and improve a robot that will compete in a weeklong Tug of War competition.

VIQC Competition (Afternoon)

Grades: Rising 5-7

Experience Level: Advanced

Dates/Time: August 14-18, 2023 | 1pm-4pm

 

Build a robot and compete in a shortened version of the 2023-2024 VEX IQ Competition, an international competition for elementary and middle school students. This camp is designed for students who are interested in joining a RoboKai team for the 2023-2024 season. Game details will be announced in May 2023.

Self-Driving Vehicles (Afternoon)

Grades: Rising 5-7

Experience Level: Beginner

Dates/Time: July 24-28, 2023 | 1pm-4pm

 

Use the engineering design process to design, build, test, and improve a vehicle that will use sensors and programming to navigate roads and hazards.

Treasure Hunt (Afternoon)

Grades: Rising 5-7

Experience Level: Intermediate

Dates/Time: August 7-11, 2023 | 1pm-4pm

 

Use the engineering design process and lessons in coding, sequencing, and calculation to design, build, test, and improve a robot that will compete in a weeklong Treasure Hunt competition.
